Radiation Related Devices

The Radiation Safety Department is responsible for radiation generating devices used on campus, including irradiators, X-ray generating equipment, and high-powered lasers. To register one of these devices, or to learn more about their safe use, please select a device type from the drop-down menu above.

Information about devices used for the detection of radiation can also be found in the drop-down list. Common types of detection device include Liquid Scintillation Counters (LSCs), gamma counters and gamma spectrometers, and various types of portable probes including G-M Meters (Geiger Counters) and Low Energy Gamma (LEG) probes.
