Walk Like a Penguin to Prevent Winter Slips, Trips and Falls
Over half of all reported slips, trips and falls at UW-Madison occur during the winter months of November through February. The total incurred direct cost for these injuries in 2012 was $270,000. Indirect costs are estimated at a minimum of five times the direct cost (approximately $1,350,000 for the year 2012).
Please take care to tread safely and walk like a penguin to prevent snow and ice-related injuries:
